Yaskawa Motoman Partners with Flextur® Welding & Gridlok® Metal Tool Organizer for Agile and Responsive Robotic Welding Applications

The Motoman Robotics Division of Yaskawa America, Inc. (Yaskawa Motoman), is a leading robotics company in the Americas, located in Dayton, Ohio. The company was incorporated over 30 years ago as a 50/50 joint venture between Hobart Brothers Company and Yaskawa Electric America. In 1994, Motoman Inc. became a wholly owned subsidiary of Yaskawa Electric Corporation (Kitakyushu, Japan), a worldwide leader in mechatronics and robots. The Motoman Robotics Division of Yaskawa America, Inc. has over 450,000 Motoman® robots installed globally and provides automation products and solutions for virtually every industry and robotic application, including arc welding, assembly, coating, dispensing, material handling, material cutting, material removal, packaging, palletizing, and spot welding.

Challenge: Yaskawa Motoman needed a welding table that would work with their robotic welding arm to help customers with productivity, efficiency, and keep their workers safe in any welding application.

Solution: Yaskawa Motoman met with the Flextur custom team who listened to the Yaskawa’s vision for a robotic weld station, engineered this vision as well as recommended some additions to the robotic welding cell that the Motoman team agreed would help to achieve their vision, of creating an even more robust robotic cell. A solution their customers would have with the Gridlok® 14-guage metal tool board, the strongest in the industry for tool and material storage. And the Gridlok metal pegboard helped to create a safe work environment.
